Host your own
video conferencing
platform.
Metonnect is a self-hostable, browser-based video conferencing platform — join by Meeting ID, no app install, multilingual UI (English, Spanish, French), branded for the operator that ships it.
/01 THE BRIEF
Mid-sized companies didn't want Zoom's pricing model, didn't want Meet's data trail, and didn't want to deploy a Jitsi cluster themselves. Metonnect was built for that wedge.
A clean web product with a join-by-Meeting-ID entry point on the marketing site, EN/ES/FR localisation, branded white-label option, and a self-host path for clients who want it on their own infra.
/02 THE APPROACH
We started from the meeting-ID input — the only thing the user cares about — and built the platform behind it.
The Laravel-based web shell hosts the marketing surface, account, and meeting room; the realtime media plane is its own WebRTC service. Branding, language, and legal pages are all configurable per deployment.
Looks like a marketing page, acts like a SaaS, deploys like a Docker image.
A consistent visual voice across every surface.
Engagement, in four movements.
Decided what NOT to ship — no breakout rooms day-one, no recording day-one. Focus on the join flow.
Web shell, account, meeting orchestration, EN/ES/FR i18n, legal pages, branded theming.
Realtime media plane, audio/video toggles, screen share, basic chat. Load testing.
Recording + breakout rooms on roadmap; quarterly security audits.
Built on opinionated infrastructure.
