Cookie Policy
What goes on your browser when you visit metricstalking.com, and how to opt out at any time.
A "cookie" is a small file a website puts in your browser. Some are essential (otherwise the site breaks); others are optional and require your explicit consent. We use as few as possible, and nothing optional loads until you opt in.
1. Cookies we set ourselves
| Name | Purpose | Expiry | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
mt_consent | Remembers your cookie banner choice. | 12 months | Strictly necessary |
2. Third-party cookies (only after consent)
| Provider | Purpose | More info |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Anonymised page-view metrics so we know which content is read. | Google privacy policy |
| Tawk.to | Live chat widget for when you'd rather type than email. | Tawk.to privacy |
Before you opt in, none of the above are loaded. The site works completely without them — they're a "nice to have", not "essential".
3. Changing your mind
You can re-open the cookie banner at any time using the "Cookies" link in the footer. Reject all, accept all, or change what you previously chose — it takes effect on the next page view.
4. Browser-level controls
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies at the browser level. Look for "Privacy & Security" or "Site Settings" in your browser's preferences. Note that blocking cookies may break parts of other websites — for ours, the only thing that stops working is "remembering your consent choice", which means you'll see the banner each visit.
